Manaial
Hello, cheers for having a look at this; I'll try describe this in as much detail as I can, without going too overboard.I was walking around, testing my mods. Everything looked totally fine when I was wandering near Riverwood, but when I took a TP over to Windhelm, I noticed two very jarring visual oddities. One - the LODs for the trees weren't working properly, and two - the path looked horrible.I'm guessing it's a lot simpler to fix the path textures than it is to fix the LODs, but I figured the best bet would be to ask you guys if you know the best way to do it. Thanks in advance for any help regarding this! I'm quite new, but I hope this is enough / decent info. Here is a picture of how things are looking near Riverwood -http://i.imgur.com/eXD3zu2.jpg(Looking around further, it seemed far LODs across the huge river and lake were working fine too)Here is a picture of how things are looking near Windhelm - http://i.imgur.com/WdTvPIg.jpg(Whole place was like this, of course. Nowhere looked right, unlike Riverwood and non-snowy areas.)Here are all my mods, their order, and my plugins -http://i.imgur.com/PEVUBnP.png---http://i.imgur.com/7u2LNgM.png
Bolzenschuss
So i have had the EXACT same issue!it drove me and it drove me crazy and ive needed wayyyy to long to fix it but i found a way for it to be solved and you prob will profit from my knowledge1. Get in touch with this very sick tool : DynDOLOD2. Do everything as shown in its tutorial you can find on youtube3. just change one litle very important setting:when you are in DynDOLOD.exe goto its advanced settings and scroll all the way down until you see tree you will see that the LOD 8 and LOD 16 will most likely be replaced with billboards from installed flora overhauls or vanilla ones - now this is important:instead of using the billboards you just let DynDOLOD generate its very own LOD for the trees!its simple you just double click on trees entry and change the values for LOD 8 and LOD 16 from billboard into LOD 8 - LOD 8 and LOD 16 - LOD 16this way you will get the perfect lod for your treesthey can be still a litle bit brighter than the normal trees because they lack shadowsbut you can experiment using the "Tree LOD brightness" feature in Dyndolod.exe advanced featurethis is what you will get:http://imgur.com/a/MbmoOnext step is some easy yet very good ini tweaks i figured out:in Skyrimprefs.ini look and replace:[Display]fMeshLODLevel2FadeTreeDistance=5048.0000fMeshLODLevel1FadeTreeDistance=7844.0000fTreesMidLODSwitchDist=10000000.0000here is another example i just screencapped with wider viewdistance so you see what im talking abouthttp://imgur.com/a/Vvfsg [Trees]bRenderSkinnedTrees=1uiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=100fUpdateBudget = 0 watch out this one "uiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=100" will render 100 trees - vanilla would be 20(!) so make sure your pc can handle this but it is worth a try because it is very performance friendly another screen i just did with even further distance http://imgur.com/a/TcFTb Edited November 23, 2016 by Bolzenschuss
