It means that you in the middle of combat can, by suddenly crouching, force your enemies (that arent too close to you) to search for you before they can attack. First: Invisibilty doesnt actually work that way (once an enemy sees you, they will still know where you are even if you turn invisible during a fight).

Secondly: Assuming that you dont have enough magicka, or a high enough illussion level to make the invisibility spell available to vendors, you cant use the invisibility spell.

1 Why would you stand still and let them hit you where you are, move and they lose you.

2 If your a sneaky type illusion is a must have skill to get quite casting (I believe works with shouts but unsure) and upping a skill isn't limiting like a perk is and it's the easiest to spam with muffle.

3 Really? I've never had any problem hiding with invisibility against anyone even dragons which spot me with 100 sneak, so that's new to me.

The shadow warrior does exactly the following: when you crouch, you also acquire invisibility effect for a sec or 2. If you already have invisibility spell, I don't think there's any sense in it. Even more, it seems to cancel some invisibility effects by cutting them short. So, it is of debatable usefulness, like atronach perk, which makes your own spells fail as a side effect.

I dont know about others, but for me the invisibility spell only works when enemies arent alert at all. As soon as they draw their weapons the invisibility spell wont work at all no matter what you do.

Also, I have also had the problem with some enemies (not sure if it is because of their level) that see me straight away even if I am completely invisible while they are idle. During the quest with the thalmor embassy I tried to sneak with invisibility along the walls, and was still spotted like this from a thalmor guard that was a long distance from me. Sure, I was in the bright sun at the time, but I was both sneaking and invisible at the time... Tried to reload several times, but that specific guard saw me no matter what...

 

Have been other instances like that through my playthrough. Maybe its just a bug that you dont suffer. If the invisibility spell works like you describe, then yes, I suppose that the last sneak perk wouldnt add any real advantages.

Useful because it lets you backstab when already in combat by crouching and executing an attack as soon as possible. It's finnicky though, you have to do it a lot to get the finesse to pull it off all the time. Basically however, say you backstab a dragon, then you are in combat assuming 1 backstab doesn't kill it, you can then use shadow warrior to backstab again immediately, and again if 2 backstabs don't do it, and again etc. Basically infinite backstabs without having to move.
