SpellAndShield
Seeing how Skyrim is way in the North, wouldn't it make sense if the sun set at 5pm and rose at 7pm rather than 7pm and 5am?
Evilllamas
I was hoping for seasons etc, where it would be dark/ sunny all the time in the far northern reaches- and I also wanted snow.As in, snow would fall on a green forest, and make it white- then melt again. But beth lied.
dianacat777
Well, I wish it had been shifted back. Dawn seems way too early. Really, I preferred the whole 8-6 thing that Oblivion and Morrowind had going on.

Just like any place it depends on the time of year. Unlike places closer to the equator, the time the sun rises and sets varies by extreme amounts. As Evilllama mentions, you get things like polar days and nights, days where the sun will never set or rise for days. There are some fantastic panoramic videos of the sun never setting, so you should google it to see for yourself. I think it would be a cool mod to have this change over the course of the year.
