Blamethegods
Please pardon my stupid, for I am inexperienced in the ways of modding and using Nexus Mod Manager. And programming in general. I downloaded the manager, then the game, and a bunch of mods. Some of them required some specific assembly outside of the Mod Manager. With mods deactivated, the game works just fine. With mods activated, the menu screen with options like "data files" and "Technical Support" shows up like normal. I hit "Play" and the screen goes black like its about to open the main menu- only to then crash and immediately go back to the desktop. No "error" message or anything. Here are the mods I downloaded, all from the Nexus Mods website, save for the official patch:Better CitiesBlockhead - (It didn't have a download for the manager, so I moved this file into the Oblivion folder. It showed up on the manager just fine except that it doesn't recognize the Download ID)Capes and CloaksCM Partners Mod Basic (Mod v 2)Coronerras Maximum Compatibility SkeletonsNatural EnvironmentsOblivion Character Overhaul version 2Official Oblivion 12416 Patch (I think this one came with the Steam download)Pluggy v125bUnofficial Oblivion DLC PatchesUnofficial Oblivion PatchVORB - VaderApps Oblivion Real BodiesWomans Move - Female Walking Animaiton Replacer I planned on downloading some more mods.I'm not sure what exactly is crashing the game. Are there any more details I should add? Or am I hopeless? EDIT:Okay, I discovered that there were a few files missing from the Better Cities Mod I must have overlooked, and with that disabled the game started up. - only to then crash at the end of the opening cutscene with Patrick Stewart's monologue. Now what? Maskar
Disable all your mods and try again. If it no longer crashes start adding mods again, 1 at a time.
