What kind of mods can we expect once creation kit is released?

So I know that the kit is coming in Jan. of 2012 but why is it of such importance? It seems to me like the full potential of modding skyrim is not yet available to us because of the creation kit but why?

and once it is released, what kind of mods can we expect? any game changing mods or something of that nature instead of reskins, models, and just skins in general?

can anyone give me an idea or an example maybe from the oblivion mods or a link to help me understand!!

really excited but truth be told, im getting bored of skyrim but am hoping once they release the kit, something gameplay changing will occur and be released to make it more fun or exciting again.

I'm not a good modder, I'm a beginner. But the first thing I'm going to do is to rearrange my home. Get the cobwebs out. And redecorate everything. I don't know if I'll upload anything for the tesnexus users to download but I do plan on making a lot of easy personal mods. If I think one is good enough, I'll share.

But I think there's going to be all kinds of mods....too many to say which one will be the most popular or significant. I'd enjoy almost anything.

picture it this way:

When bethesda were creating Skyrim, what sort of tools did they use to complete the task? The CREATION KIT... that being said, a given modder's imagination and dedication is the only real limit.

If someone was dedicated enough, you could expect to see full expansion packs as mods (packed with new monsters, questlines, dungeons, areas, gear, ect. ect....)

Models / Retextures are (almost) the only thing on Nexus so far, because those are really the only files you can mod (easily) without using the developer tools

Anything and everything - your imagination is the only limit. New towns, new quests, new building styles, new player houses, new monsters, new weapons, a real UI, body mods, new spells, and even new kinds of spells. How about a mod that auto arranges the books on your bookshelf in alphabetical order? A new - not run down castle with features like a drawbridge, moat, guard force loyal to the player, better horses, saddlebags to carry extra loot - a pack mule, new lands outside of Skyrim, new caves, How about a pet dragon that you can play fetch with? an evil mage to fight. literally anything that a modder can dream up.

Look through the mod request topic and see some of what has been requested already - most of it will be done.

As for Oblivion, look through the mods there to see what the Oblivion modders have done with it for a hint of what we will do with Skyrim.

I will be hoping for:

- Jarl mod to become more powerful within the world.

- Marriage mod (haunt got married yet but i know how poor it is)

- Performance mods.

- More beast race npcs.

- New weapons and amours.

- Cyrodill added to south of the map.

I will personally change a few things such as setting some npcs non-essential, making woman look better and deleting the stupid fog effect which appears INSIDE Solitude's castle.
