Guys,

when your out there exploring, please read every book u find. Even if u dont flip through all the pages. There are a lot of quest you guys learn about and rare items u can find just by reading books, and that includes journals etc... And there are a lot of books that increase different skills just from reading them. Just thought id share some wisdom :)

You don't need to actually read em, just "use" them. And I think, there are only 2 quests you get from being a bookworm. Also, you can clearly see which books are useful by checking their value. Edited by TimF

But there are some nice stories to read :P No, really. Im serious, there are several pretty good stories. Plus you learn a little about lore. It seems to me there is a lot more to Skyrim than is evident in the regular game. Skryim was once home to Barenziah, played numerous major roles in the Empires history, including it's very creation, and tons of other things.

There were two I read from a bandit camp that lead me to the location of a treasure chest, but I actually had to read the contents, not just open the book. So the OP is correct, reading the contents can point the way to more stuff sometimes.

my favorite books hand down are the lusty argonian house-maid books.... whoever wrote those is genius.... I recommend EVERYONE read them if you want to honestly laugh your ass off.

second that. The well known author of this king-of-tes play is Crassius Curio
