[LE] Help With Lava

Gratz on getting it to compile that was 1/2 the battle. Now you can really mod !

Ahhh...modding...oh, wait! This is a game?!

I have spent way too much time on this.

At first I simply wanted a hole to drop dead bodies down, under the map/floor. Out of sight, out of mind. But then, I wanted more. :D

I thought it would be cool if it could kill too. But I cannot get any of this work.

I need more education on this.

I really do appreciate the time you have given to helping me & a basis for more understanding, NexusComa.

If & when, I will have weigh how important this is right now, I find the error, I will reply here.

I thank you good sir/madam.

Good day. :)

My workaround till I learn more:

This actually works really nice because it gives a fire sound. Not that it couldn't be added, but...you know..:D

Place DB10FireDamageTriggerBox (T icon top)

In the Object view window, type in the filter DB10TrapFireTriggerExplosion01.

Double click it & change the ID name to something easy to remember.

Set the damage to 1000 (or more)

Hit OK & YES to creating a new form

Double click on your Trigger Box that you just placed in the Render window

Go to scripts tab (far right)

Double click the DB10FireTrigger script

NOTE: I do not know if this causes any issue. I do not believe that it does, so maybe get some more info if not sure.

Highlight the second one, its type is Explosion.

On the right side click the pull down & find your new DB10TrapFireTriggerExplosion01.

Hit OK.

You should now have a kill box with a fire sound. :)

The fact is most everything in programming comes at a deadly time cost ... but, that's how you learn.

Tricks is to always archive the things you have learned. That way you continue to build your knowledge

without losing (or redoing) something you have already learned. Pure repetition cements it in your head.

The things you learned for your work around you will never forget. Working for it gave it to you forever.

There is always 100 ways to do what you want to get done, never fear pushing your code ...
