Larryb11
Im looking for a mod that allows you to block with dual wield , I know this is asking for much since there is no animation for it . The blocking should be made so that you actually take damage and much weaker than a shield , perhaps your attacks could be made weaker also for balance purposes , form a logical perpective it makes no sense that you cannot block a hit with 2 swords . On worst case id like a mod that allows you to cast spells with a two handed weapon like bow or sword and keep the blocking and spell without the need of favorite switching , I find this very stupid that I cannot simply cast a spell and hold the weapon in a single hand for a short time , I find it annoying to constantly change favorites and often get killed due to poor control , there is keys on my deathadder mouse and keyboard , WHAT WERE THEY THINKING , YOU COULD DO THIS IN OBLIVION...???? of secondary importance : Also is there a mod that keeps things equipped on your back when you change to cast a spell , or lets say when you change from a bow to a swrd that both stay on your body and dont simply dissapear , this does not look cool and is not realistic . Sunnie
It doesn't exist, yet. Make a request in the "request" forum. Most likely won't see anything like this until some time after the toolset releases.

Hoptic
I guess you're wrong when you say that the double-blocking animation doesn't exist. When you have a torch in one hand, you can use it to block and bash: a skilled modder could use this animation with whatever weapon you hold in the left hand. But a skilled modder I'm not. You should probably re-read the above posts, nobody said anything about missing blocking animations. Also, making an offhand weapon block instead of attack defeats the purpose of having a offhand weapon. may as well just use a shield and get armor rating out of the deal to boot. Larryb11
Theres enough hotkeys and buttons to make a block button for dual wield , its just not logical and tactical for somebody to passively let himself be hit in the face with blunt weapons just because hes got a dagger or sword in both hands , this defeats the purpose of living and implies invincibility . I actually wanted a dagger and sword sword type feudal japan style character , I want to be cool and different and still be a good melee combatant . Block should be possible but less effective and more stamina intensive , that would be a logical and balanced approach to dual wield characters . People say that shield and sword is overpowerd anyways compared to 2 handed and dual wield . Edited December 29, 2011 by Larryb11

Actually, the OP did say that there was no block animation. I don't think anyone is foolish enough to want to lose attacking functionality in a sword, they just want to not take hits to the face with no reaction like an imbecile. As Larryb said, there are plenty of open hotkeys, just bind it to one of those. Seriously, who ignores a warhammer to the face, and simply lets it hit them? I know I can move out of the way most of the time, but running backwards without tripping with no penalty to speed is completely illogical. I agree with everyone else on the stamina and effectiveness issues, it should consume very large amounts of stamina (~75?) and the player should still take damage (~3/4?). Larryb11
http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/510683-combat-mechanic-overhaul-mod/ plz support my idea here , I have stopped playing Skyrim for now , I just got the game yesterday and will wait for creating tool . If its ell explained enough I will try doing it myself , I know exactly how to make the combat better and what is needed to make the combat more intuitive . If its difficult , on the other hand I wouldnt mind paying 5-10$ for a well made overhaul to the combat mechanics . Eldiran
Unfortunately a proper dual-wield block will require the CK (at least!), but your request for being able to unequip a spell or offhand weapon for just a moment to block is possible with this: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3865 While holding the B key (can be reconfigured to a different key) your left hand will be empty.
