herdustisverypretty
Ever since I downloaded that mod months ago, I have not been able to install it. The page says to install with a mod manager, so I really do not want to attempt installing it manually because I'll most definitely screw something up. When I try to activate the mod, it gets to 25% and then 'fails' with an error message. First the error message was something about 7zip, and when I googled it, people were saying something like 'it's because you have a bad version of 7zip installed'. Well I never had 7zip installed, I was using Winrar. I installed 7zip and that message went away, but now I have a new error message. Rather than typing it all out I will attach a screenshot of the message. What on earth does this mean and how do I fix it? I tried restarting NMM, quitting Steam, restarting my PC, none of that worked. Other people who have had this problem (but for Skyrim) were saying they had Skyrim programs open (like TES5Edit), but I don't have anything open, just NMM and iTunes and I doubt iTunes is causing this. Aaaah please help me fix this because I would very much like to use this mod :c Also it's only DEF UI that this happens with. I asked the mod author about it and they said 'try redownloading the mod'. I did, multiple times, it didn't work. I don't know what else to do tbh. (the image somehow did not attach, that's lovely.) TheRaOct
Quick question: have you downloaded the most recent version of DefUi? And second: have you tried to run NMM as admin? (accidentally replied twice, moderator plus delete this post) Edited November 29, 2016 by TheRaOct

Looking at the error message, is nexus mod manager installed in your appData folder? That is a protected folder so most likely it's a permissions thing. This is where mine is installed D:\Nexus Mod Manager. I would uninstall and reinstall depending on how many mods you are running it's fairly easy. I am using Winrar also and never have an issue. Here is a video tutorial on getting it set up and running.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puzGu4Cm2VQ Edited December 1, 2016 by ironbug99
