SKoreanguy
SKoreanguy's first mod I have Windows Vista, and I dont know if this is keeping me from installing mods. I downloaded the Natural_Faces mod from tesnexus.com and WinRAR. This is my first time trying this and I might me doing something wrong. Actually, I must because its not working. first I open up the mod and it has ..texturesArchiveIncalidat...MD_Natural_Fac... and i highlight all of this (click then shift click on the last one) and then click on Extract To button on the top. Then a menu comes up and i click on the + next to OS(C:) Program FilesBethesda SoftworksOblivion Then I click on the word Data and click OK, and then a box comes up with a yellow caution sign that has WinRAR: Diagnostic messages next to it. And inside are all the parts of the mod and the bottom 3 have Access is denied. and others say The system cannot find the path specified. Thank you in advance to anyone who helps.I'll thank you afterwards too. praying waiting,SKoreanguy

You problem is most likely that UAC (User Account Control) is protecting the Program Files directory. There are a couple of solutions, the best being that you install Oblivion somewhere else, e.g. C:\Bethesda\Oblivion. You can also try with always running Oblivion as Administrator, and turning off the UAC, which is not recommended. And you might want to download the Oblivion Mod Manager too, because Vista has a tendency to hide away files, and the Mod Manager comes in handy when finding them, and making mods work in VIsta. Guest
I'm running Oblivion on my Vista x64 computar and it works just fine! All mods seem to work. If you're having problems with UAC you should install your Oblivion somewhere else (as in not in the Program Files directory). I myselve have a seperate partition for all my games and important files. So when I messed something up (again) I can easly reformat the entire computer, witouth losing my much beloved games, mods, downloads and hentai -er, ... anime. ResidentWeevil2077
Vista be damned! Especially this new UAC B.S. - it sickens me that M$ is actually willing to to prevent people from using their OWN computers in the name of frickin' security. While I myself actually like using Vista, I am not at all pleased that M$ is trying to take away my rights to use my own computer - Vista wouldn't be such a bad thing if people would only WAKE THE HELL UP! C'mon man, you have to start being savvy about how you're using your computer for goodness' sake!
