ahnjd
Hi there, is there a mod to fix distance buildings from having their color clashing? What I mean by this is when you look at a building from a distance, it will start flickering between two colors, but once you get close, it will return to normal. damanding
This is an LOD (level of detail) flicker and the only way to "fix" it with a mod is to improve the LOD meshes and textures for every object in the game. From a long distance the mesh and textures are lower resolution to save on processing power. You can also try adjusting your LOD settings in the advanced graphics settings but increasing the detail will impact performance if you have a lower end video card. Plus there are some objects in the game which have a bugged LOD in the first place courtesy of Bethesda and I'm not sure if the Unofficial Patch includes that type of fix or not. ahnjd
Hi thanks for the help. I turned up everything and it was notiably lowered (Still some flickers here and there) Although I do get this weird effect. For example I scrapped the broken house in Sanctuary and from a distance, it looks to still be there, but getting close, it disapears as it should not be there. Is this something I just need to deal with? The only LOD mod I am using is FAR atm
damanding
The issue in Sanctuary is a separate issue and has to do with scrapping precombined meshes and precombined visibility. I don't fully understand the technical details of it all from a modder's perspective but basically it's a method Bethesda used to improve performance. If you're using a scrapping mod like Spring Cleaning or Scrap Everything it's kind of just something you learn to live with. There is an ini tweak you can use which helps, but it comes with a significant performance cost. Personally I'd rather just have the occasional oddness than the performance drop. In my game (using Scrap Everything and some Sanctuary clean up mods that affect precombined meshes) part of the street facing wall for the main character's house fades in and out of visibility depending on your viewing angle and distance. I just ignore it.http://www.creationkit.com/fallout4/index.php?title=Precombined_References
