Skyrim SE doesn't load after clicking play on luancher.

SkyrimSE was working fine for me until yesterday morning and I'm not sure why it stopped.

If i disable my NMM mods it will load fine but when i try to play with the mods active it just doesnt load so im not sure if my load order is messed up or what.

I've tried running LOOT but it doesnt change the load order.

If anyone can help me with this issues I'd greatly appreciate it.

Check if skyimse.exe is not running in task manager, some times it hides and that problem happens.

 

If the above is not it. Disable the mods 1 by 1 and test to find the one causing it.

star with disabling the .esp and find the mod that causes the problem.

Alternate start should go at the end for starters

Alternate start needs at the bottom of the load order.

My experience is Loot will change load order if you close the modmanager.

And my experience is you can't have a .bsa file from the old skyrim mods active.

I'm 99% certain your problems are caused by incorrect load order or a missing master file. If your skyrim was working previously then it's likely that somehow the load order has become jumbled.

Try to get loot working as this will give you a good foundation. As a general rule your mods should be in the following order:

 

#01: Your ESM Files;
#02: Bug-Fix type Mods;
#03: Game Structure and/or UI Mods:
#04: Character Appearance Mods (For NPCs and Self);
#05: Mods that Add and/or Change Locations; *
#06: Mods that Add and/or Change Items;
#07: Mods that Add NPCs;
#08: Texture Mods;
#09: Environmental Mods (things like Climates of Tamriel, Sounds of Skyrim, etc.);
#10: Mods with Gameplay Changes; Then,
#11: Reproccers, AV, and Bashed Patches

 

I have taken this load order from some info on the Expanded Towns and Cities Oldrim page (credit goes to MissJennaBee and Edeldios). I've been using it for a long time and it's always served me well. Please keep in mind that certain mods will specify where they need to be loaded and may not follow the above rules.
