Cowboy variation

A reasonably simlpe mod I would think, making the guns and adding them to the Cowboy Perk list. To make it really easy, the guns would use the same mods as their .357 Magnum cousins. Maybe a unique .45 revolver (Big Iron) and a unique .45 repeater(some sort of Mares Leg).

 

Ive seen some mods that use scripts to randomly replace a weapon on NPCs, like the Contender pistol mod.....it replaces huning rifles with the contender in rare cases.

 

Would be awesome if someone could point me in the direction of some sort of tutorial for making a script like that :)

That script you are talking is simply a Leveled Item list. It's a list that is added to the enemies and npc's of your choice, and it then selects randomly from that list what objects it should spawn in it's inventory. You should just then find that list of your choice and then add the revolver you made for example. The list have names that usually says what it is, for example "NCRHeavyTrooperEnergyWeapons" This is a list that is put into the inventory of NCR Heavy Trooper, and tells it what kind of Energy Weapons it can spawn with. (Not the actual lists, but that's how it works in a way I can explain it, I don't have my GECK here, right now)
