i was just wondering if i needed to make a new model if i wanted to make an item look totally different, if so may you please tell me a good software to do this with. Thank you very much

Yea if you want to replace an item and have it look totally different youll need a new model to replace it with. Im no expert on anything so ill just throw these links at you to help you find somewhere to start.

No. The software you get from the Autodesk Education Community is the full-featured, sophisticated software used by professionals all around the world. However, there may be a watermark on output that indicates the design was created using an Educational copy and was not purchased for legal Commercial use.

Does the software that I get on the Education Community “timeout” after a period of time?

Yes. The software you get from the Autodesk Education Community comes with a 36 month license.

I have not noticed any watermarks on my tinkering projects so for me this is awesome.

You may also need a way to extract resources from .bsa archives. OBMM and FOMM do this well. As far as linking your new assets in game people are having success with SkyEdit but I would wait for the official construction set to be released sometime this month (soon). If your starting with no modeling experience at all I can guarantee you wont be worried about linking assets in game before the CK is released.
