The deal with the Skryim

Ok so I'm, 150 hours into the game, It had it's ups and than it had is downs. 150 hours of game play is good for any game bugs not withstanding. The basic principles behind the gameplay is perfect, absolutely. But as i said the game has its ups and downs. After 150 hours I decide to give the bards college a try. And after doing all the quests in bards college i feel its my obligation to say, WHAT ... THA ... f***.......

what the f*** BETHESDA!??!?! This is the straw that broke the camels back!

What was the point of the bards college? I'm seriously so pissed about this. Is there nothing going on here? Is this some kind of unfinished faction? what am i really looking at here?

Was the release date to tight for you Bethesda? I demand an explanation for this, this, this....s***! That's what it is; Pure crap!!

I usually call my self a "casual gamer" I like immersion but game mechanics is the most important. Game mechanics are fine, the bugs that exist in that area are already pointed out by other people. I'm not complaining about those. But it fills me with tears and emotions when I see this incomplete game. It is like looking upon an aborted fetus. A baby, perversely release upon the world before it was really ready. Bethesda pulled me out of my game-world in the most violent fashion today. I can no longer say I love Skyrim, because those who made it did not design it with love. We have something here that appears to be a whole faction to be explored, when it in reality is a dead-end going nowhere. Skyrim, for all intents and purposes is an alpha. Yeah I said it, A god-damn alpha! They did NOT deliver the proper game mechanics that was promised, NOR did they deliver the immersion part. Dead ends like this makes me cry.

I know you guys also cry, because this was a big deal for you as well. I know that games from Bethesda are notorious for this kind of horseshit, but tell me, after purchasing and playing Skyrim, Could you seriously look me in the eye and tell me: "I am not disappointed" ? cus i sure as hell am.

Except for the Companions, College of Winterhold, and Bard's College, the questlines are well done. The contrast between Thieves Guild and say, the College of Winterhold, is massive. There is depth to one, and the other... well, you get my point. It's disappointing, yes, but at the same time the game delivers in many other ways.

I wouldn't get too down about it, there will be patches and DLC at least...

The best part would be how you subtly crafted the post to say you disliked the Bard's college, and then try to convince everyone that the entire game thus blows. Good show!

No, I'm not disappointed. I love this game. It's not perfect. I never did expect the perfect game. I did get one of the most incredible games I've ever played though, and that's good enough for me. I expect it to become even better with DLC and mods in the future. I remember something my sister often said to me when we were younger: "Not the best, just better than everyone else." and I feel it suits Skyrim pretty nicely. Making the perfect game is more or less impossible - making one as incredible as Skyrim, hard enough, and it's bound to go steadily upwards. With all that said...

... I haven't checked out the Bard's college yet. I'm in no rush. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif

This was one of the things that made me stop playing skyrim, got somehow dissapointed and tired...i expected more from the bards college then this.

I been saving my time for it, so i didnt gone right there....finished most of the guild quests...then i finaly make up my mind to go there and learn to be a bard, just to find out i get some quest and can learn speech...i dont know why i thought i will be able to use the instruments like all the bards do, make some money with it and have a good time....should have expected that.

I confess I haven't done the bards college quests yet. But, did the Dean of the college molest your sister or something? The Bard College is purely extra stuff added to the core elements of the game. Did Oblivion even have a Bard's College? This is totally "extra" content added to the game to provide yet more quests and flavor. What exactly were you expecting? To learn how to play the bongos? How quickly would that animation become boring? Edited by CalibanX

What flavor, the simple animation of npcs copy/pasted to the player would have added flavor, its like i would have asked you "what did you expect from a warriors guild, that you going to fight?".

Thats what most of the guilds somehow miss for me in skyrim, the flavor.

I really enjoyed the Thieves Guild quests. The Winterhold College quests... not so much. Why complain about the Bard's College though? It's not as if you bought the game expecting to defeat enemies with your lute. The Bards college is something that Bethesda didn't need to even put in the game at all. It's like getting an extra order of fries with your burger but then complaining that the fries didn't meet your standards. Be thankful you even got an extra helping of fries in the first place. It's not like Skyrim was advertised as the ultimate Bard College/learn musical instruments game.
