Rennn
Sometimes my HDR lighting looks great on characters, and they have smooth shadows, etc. Other times, it looks like their face shadows are horrible, unfiltered, and made of several layers of clashing shadow. I'll get some screens up tomorrow, since it's really late (not even that early anymore, lol) tonight. I need to make every HDR shadow into the good HDR shadows. Any mods or .ini tweaks you can think of if you know what I'm speaking of? As I said, I'll get some screens up and make this request more clear tomorrow. dazzerfong
HDR is not related to shadowing whatsoever, if you're unsatisfied with the face shadow, you can set the shadow maps resolution higher in the Oblivion.ini located in My Games/Oblivion. The option for maps size is iShadowMapResolution.
Rennn
Thank you. I'll be sure to try this.
Rennn
Changing the shadow resolution doesn't seem to have much of an impact. Perhaps massively increasing the filter quality? I'm trying to get rid of the stripe effect in areas if high light to dark contrast. Also, the screens I've tried to upload have been too large. When I scale them down, you end up not being able to see the shadow quality from such small images.
Rennn
Increasing the filtering in the .ini didn't help. Hmmm...Also, does anyone know what value to tweak so that the sun doesn't get so massively bright around mid-day? Sorry about the screen. I'm not sure why it's only for download rather than simple viewing. On the shoulder you can see the problem I'm talking about with the shadow. Nitefox98
Turn off self shadows. Try the following for indoor: [blurShaderHDRInterior]fBrightScale=0.5000fBlurRadius=7.0000 Outdoor: [blurShaderHDR] fBrightScale=1.0000 Edited December 30, 2011 by Nitefox98
