Ru5tyShackleford
I have nothing against the special edition, but there is just so much more mods and stuff currently for the old skyrim, and I've started to see some cool stuff being made for SSE. Is there a way to port a mod backwards, so it will work for oldrim? Nothing fancy, no scripted mods or anything.
hard8
Just install oldrim and use the mods from the original skyrim game or this version of nexusmod meant for oldrim http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/?
Ru5tyShackleford
No no, I have no problem playing and running mods on oldrim. I'm talking about running and converting SSE mods in oldrim. I can give an example If needed.
hard8
oldrim is 32bit and SE is 64bit and handles memory better then oldrim
Ru5tyShackleford
I know. I've already stated my reasoning above.
cdcooley
Generally speaking the answer is no. It's probably best if you stop looking at the newly available mods for SSE for a while if it bothers you that there are interesting mods there but you aren't ready to start playing SSE yet. The other option is to play some of both so you can try out those new SSE mods but still also have a character in the original using your traditional mod list. Ru5tyShackleford
Has it been tried and failed before? I just might have to wait it out sadly. Biggest problem is the mods left behind though.
Lisselli
I read once SSE plugins are not backwards compatible.

Deleted3897072User
Install a genuine SSE mod in Oldrim. Does it work? There's your answer. Does it immediately crash the game? There's your answer.
