[LE] MOD PROJECT - Seeking team

Hey guys I'm looking to build a fairly large mod (think Enderal) in the creation kit.

I'm looking for modellers, level designers, writers, voice actors, animators, artists, you name it there's a spot ;)

I'm currently building the world itself but I need people to help populate it and design areas.

The team will be split into regions, with each group co-ordinating to build a portion of the world, fill it with quests and people.

If you'd like to be involved then e-mail [email protected] with a short explanation of what position you're interested in, and preferably an example of some of your work.

Look forward to hearing from you and making something great!

Ok, I'll preface first this by saying that I'm trying to be constructive here, so hear me out.

But first and foremost, this post tells NOTHING about what you are doing. There is no sell point here at all, it is just another white noise post from someone who has no presence on Nexus wanting others to make their mod for them (that's how it comes off at least)

You have no mods posted, so nobody knows if you can complete a job or not, nobody knows what YOUR skills are that you are bringing to a project. You don't list what you can do and will be doing in the project aside from that you are starting the worldspace development.

If you are new to modding and have no titles to your credits people will almost certainly not bother.

My suggestion is that you make a SMALL mod or two yourself, flesh out your skills and learn to do level design, lighting, quest building, the basics of worldspace and region gen design, a little modeling and texturing design, and scripting. THEN people might be able to get behind you and know that you have the skills to put it all together and that they aren't simply going to be expected to do all the work on your vision themselves.

You need to describe the premise of what you are trying to accomplish. Show and tell what you want to create and why and THEN people will have an idea if the project itself has merit to them to get involved in. You will however still have to prove YOUR abilities though first. You don't have to be an expert in everything but it helps to show folks you are able to do more than just write and "organize" the project.

There is also the philosophy out there of "why would I (a modder) want to spend my time making someone else's mod when I have 100 ideas of my own?" That is the hardest part of putting together a team. You have to have a portfolio of good work or one big project you did mostly yourself, and be good at coordinating without being overbearing and be willing to pick up the slack yourself and get it done when your team drops the ball, and members of your team WILL drop the ball from time to time, and you will have to do the rest of the work yourself to keep things on schedule.

Sorry if I'm coming off as harsh but I see posts like this every week and they are usually from folks who have single digit post counts and no mods posted of their own and are usually pretty darn vague in their presentation of what they are looking to accomplish. If you want to hopefully find some folks to help, I'd really suggest you take some of my advice. Good luck.

P.S. here's my request for involvement in a large project of mine. Bear in mind that most of the team building happens behind the scenes from contributors to other projects coming into the fold, and PM'ing folks, etc.
