spartanair1
First - I have a buncha mods running, all in harmony until just now. The question of wtf happened is a separate one, but I'm now most worried about getting Oblivion to run at all.So I hit the shield bash button for the first time by accident. The game went all wacky (the only thing that worked afterwards was the tab menu, which was totally fubar). Now no menu button works, including "new," "load," or "exit" on the main intro screen. It's unrelated to a save game -- I was afraid it may have autosaved following whatever the hell happened, so I removed all save files. Same problem. Unloaded deadly reflex, then unloaded all mods, nothing. Damn. First time I've completely jacked the game. So, if the answer is to reinstall, what procedures should I follow other than patching the game up to current? Does reinstalling overwrite any textures that I'll need to recopy-and-overwrite?Lastly, how do I chase the problem down if reinstalling doesn't work? Answer to any or all questions, I know I asked alot. TIA. Deadly Reflex 4.0 btw.

Deadly Reflex 4.0 btw. that happened to me once, except not with deadly reflex. what I would recomend doing, is to COMPLETELY uninstall Oblivion, and then reinstall it. make sure you make a back up of the mods that you want on a flash drive (one that's big enough). Good Luck! P.S. Did you have "obse v12" installed?
IndorilTheGreat
oh yeah... you'll have to put all the meshes and textures and sounds (etc.) back into the proper folders for your favorite mods again. I would recommend NOT using so many mods next time. If the "Meshes" and "Textures" and "Sounds" (etc) folders get turned into .BSA type files, get something like obmm, and extract their contents into your '/data' folder. Hope I helped!
