dragonclaw88
Well it displays well, lightened thje image up for details and made no adjustments to the mesh or dss file. the uv map is good as is, I just redirected the nif to my local file for the texture easy to do in nif skope. much darker in nifskope. So I put a distressed bronze texture on it for comparison. Looks pretty good. I like how the bronze texture resembles the dwemer materials. I tried to do the same thing with the tentacled-recess model, but it doesn't want to export with its UV's or textures :wallbash: Anyone ever do this in MAX? exporting .3ds files to NIFscope with texture coordinates? Meatbomb
You are the one asking for help This. Great that you feel competent, but even if I felt "good enough" for you I would not want to do a free, fun, hobby with somebody making me feel like an employee. Sheesh. But best of luck to you, and hope to see your interesting work eventually.
dragonclaw88
But best of luck to you, and hope to see your interesting work eventually. This. Actually, anyone who has laudable skill can be part of the project and once in, can have complete access to all my files on request. My skill lies solely with MAX and Photoshop. I need more artists and members the modding community to make something happen. You don't have to be part of it if you don't want to Meatbomb. If you change your mind, we're all interested in seeing what you have or reading any ideas. But until then, you can crawl back under your bridge. Edited January 2, 2012 by dragonclaw88
dragonclaw88
I have uploaded the Tentacled Recess model. Anyone want to take a crack at texturing it can download it here. you can be as creative as you like, but if you can attempt to put oblivion runes on the tentacles and around the ring, that'd be really, really cool. Thanks to all, and if there is anything else you need, please let me know. UPDATE: Diaphragm Door Edited January 3, 2012 by dragonclaw88

Popcornman68
Ok so I really suck at nifskope once I import my .obj from blender and add my normal .dss I get this... Yet in Blender it looks like this... Idk how lighting works in nifskope but through the render settings it looks like i have the lighting on sunny day.... hmmmmm
buddah
slide the ambient lighting setting to the right side of the triangle. this will brighten the display. Nice work !
dragonclaw88
You both have done awesome work and I'd be proud to work with both of you on a project. The lantern looks great, I just need to test in a few lighting configurations. It should work well, but I may need to adjust the light to make sure the red color doesn't get blown-out. The tentacled recess model looks interesting, I actually didn't expect so much detail to be on the base layer. Kudos! Oh, FYI, though (sorry I didn't mention this earlier to you guys), I'd like to try a couple of different texture iterations for the tentacled-recess model, since it will be an important part of the dungeon and lighting effects will enhance and possibly obscure different parts of the texture, depending on colors used. I'm also doing research into the best method to give it glowing Oblivion runes on the tentacles. Background on the scene: This is the secret passage to a subterranean temple of sorts. It is carved into a (probably) limestone cavern. The recesses are mostly filled, but not glowing blue, like they should, because one in each tier is empty--the player must find 10 eyes--glass stones that will glow blue once a tier is complete. Until then, a torch or a light spell will be *almost* necessary to see what's going on in the upper levels. Once all "eyes" are inserted and glowing, a door will open to the split staircase leading to the amphitheater. It would be boring not to have to defeat a swarm of hideous monsters there ;) . There is a large iris diaphragm, functioning as a door, at the bottom, towards the back, that will need to be opened. I have not yet decided how, but if possible I would like tentacles to extrude from the opening and pull the player into the void. This is just a showcase, don't mind the lighting: http://www.ShareCG.com/v/58518/view/2/Animation/Diaphragm-Showcase Edited January 4, 2012 by dragonclaw88
buddah
Just a marbel base and a granite overlay, you need a jewel for the center....let me see what I can come up with blue and glowing. On the tentacles with runes, check with Mr. Dave, he may be able to tell you how. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=39159
