Applying deformation to clothing

I have added some string panties to a nude mesh with blender but they do not deform in the same way as the underlying body mesh which causes clipping issues (when crouching and jumping). Any easy way to fix this?

I realize that this is probably a rtfm issue but the blender manual is huge and I'm no pro when it comes to the lingo. I feel like it shouldnt be too hard but I havent been able to figure it out on my own.

*bump*

I tried the "quick fix" mentioned in XunAmaroXs guide, copying weights from the body mesh I want to use it for and then apply scale and rotation. After doing that I just cant export the mesh, I keep getting an error that I have to many vertices.
