Like initiating battle, or saying hi, etc. The further the distance, the further away you can be for them to notice you maybe? As if they're not annoying enough... please don't tell me that if you turn it up they'll greet you from halfway across town... Mr. Shy-and-Consistent Posted January 7, 2004 Author Share Posted January 7, 2004 One thought of mine was that AI distance determined how close or far away an AI creature/NPC could be before they would do things besides just stand there, like say a random line to themselves (like "Where is that slave?") or even just walk around. Therefore, it would probably make sense to keep the distance and AI slider at the same level to prevent creatures in the fog from attacking and from you seeing creatures far away stare you straight in the eye and doing nothing.
