PsxMeUP
Have you noticed Bethesda doesn't have fat people in any of their games? Not Oblivion, not Fallout, not Skyrim. So... just a mod that makes at least some of the merchants and a few characters fat, round, obese, overweight, brawny, stout, rotund, portly, maybe a little short... shiholude
Not to argue symantics, but most of the working class in this time period would historically be starved and gaunt figures, barely able to afford their next meal. The portly of the population would be reserved for the few at the top. That said, you do make an interesting observationt hat I hadn't realized before. Variety is good. -Shiholude
huntsman2310
Not to burst your idea. But Skyrim is a inhospitable land filled with Wolves, Bears, Spriggans, Necromancers and Frost Trolls. Not to mention Dragons. I honestly reckon all the fat people would have been wiped out since they would have been too slow to run from a Dragon. JMMcNemo
I say Thpppt :P (respectfully) to Shiholude and Huntsman2310, I'd like to see some varying body shapes in the game as well. The trouble is I think there is exactly ONE body model for all the playable races, change one and I think you change 'em all. I could be wrong, of course. Varying body shapes is *possible*, I believe, but not simple, at least with the tools available.

Anatorax
The Witcher comes to my mind when I think about varying NPC models. The guys did a great job there. A really cheap solution is to make some set of "fat" clothes and put it on merchants. The body model remains the same, but the clothing is just "fat". But that's just an idea, have no clue about modding lol.
Boneduster09
At least some nobles and some merchants should be fat, obesity has nothing to do with a dragon flying behind you, has more to do, in this "middle age" setting with you economic state, if youre rich and powerfull, you have ppl to do things for you and all you need to do is to give orders and eat, obviusly you will be fat... But this is not applied to kings, since most of time, kings and in our real middle age, even popes were prominent knights. The problem is that in skyrim "noblese" does not exist very crearly, you have a jarl, some thanes, the city ward and the rest of the ppl and important clans, most of them, warrior or magician clans, so... There isn`t really a noblese that does nothing more than just give orders xD...
Tsixth
I could really care less about why there shouldn't be any fat people in skyrim, and instead worry about why I don't have the option to have what I want. I'd be interested in playing a fatty mage. He would be this nerdy dude that eats a lot of cakes and pies as an excuse to provide extra glucose for his brains. He doesn't need to be very fit, as his weapon is his mind. He can kill dragons with one fat spellcasting hand while eating a burger with the other. In fact, it's more unrealistic that none of the mages are out of shape, seeing as they hardly work out and just hang around reading books and doing intellectual stuff. Exactly, they spend their time reading and studying. What does that mean? They are poor. What does poor mean? No fatty food. I am more suprised the mages aren't thinner consider all they eat is what they get. Which means unless they are in the college, they get nada. To the post: I will partly agree. Fat merchants in Solitude would work, but that's about it. This is Skyrim, the home of Nords. Nords are fighters. A Jarl can't be fat, because he can be challenged to a duel, at which he must accept. The same goes for the High King. I can see the guild leaders to be slightly bigger than the rest too. You don't see them do anything but giving commands. At least I can see the Archmage eating himself big, because all he does is slacking at his "office" and consider his rank: He can get food. Good Lord, it's like you live in my head. Now get out, I need to fumigate for ants. ^_^ Yes, I've been pushing for a heavier shape as well, for similar reasons... my mage stayed back and let her followers do most of the melee stuff, only getting involved when need be-- so of course she'd be less 'exercise enhanced'. There's other reasons, too-- being a Breton, instinct would be for her to pack on a few pounds as insulation against the Skyrim winters, and who doesn't want to be more fluffly and cuddly, anyway? ^_^ For a female shape I personally am pushing for something similar to SPB Curvaceous by Trashdog, and for guys, I dunno... There was a mod for Fallout New Vegas called Chunky Duncan but I think that's a model lifted directly from the game... and it's not all that wonderful a shape, anyway, IMHO. It's possible to weigh 300 lbs. and still be a hunk-a-hunk-a-burnin' love, and this IS a fantasy game.. may as well enjoy the fantasy, right? And also; yes, I'd like these options to be available more to me than to the rest of the world... I like being unique compared to everyone else, no sense having flaming hair if every one else's head is on fire too.
