Fat People...

In fact, it's more unrealistic that none of the mages are out of shape, seeing as they hardly work out and just hang around reading books and doing intellectual stuff.

Exactly, they spend their time reading and studying. What does that mean? They are poor.

Uhh, why? That they could actually get so much education in a world where many people are resigned to physical labour should mean they are far from poor. Maybe while they're still in training they might have to scrimp and save abit if their families aren't rich. But after that? Ka-ching ka-ching $$

I would think that most mages who don't drop out into some obscure coven can make a lot of money with enchanting and alchemy, or being consultants.

I like being unique compared to everyone else, no sense having flaming hair if every one else's head is on fire too.

So you be a fat chick with flaming hair instead xD Good idea, I've got to try something like that.

You forget: mages are hated in Skyrim. They're basically looked upon as registered sex offenders. Therefore they have the same chance of getting hired in Skyrim, which is close to nil. It doesn't matter how smart you are if nobody hires you; you'll still be poor and thin. Unless maybe you're a court wizard for one of the Jarls.

I really think this thing about trying to make obesity lore-friendly is getting over-thought. The simple fact is, some of us would like heavier bodies for the game. I'd also like sky whales, a battle mech and Pinkie Pie as my faithful steed. The point of the game's mod-ability is that I can DO that if I want, but no one else has to if they don't.

Or you cod just make some new NPCs and assign them the fat body mesh.

*What* fat body mesh? Are you thinking of a specific one, and if so, where is it?

The one some nice person makes?

Oh, right *THAT* one, right... forgot about that one. ^_^

Get cracking, Nice Person! ^_^

Sky whales? Is that a crack at fat people? Anyway, this was a proposal to make NPC characters more believable. I think some people confused it with actual player characters, who spend all day running up cliffs. NPCs sit around all day. When I see the same guys in the same tavern every day, I imagine they should have a few pounds. Or that prison guard that's been working the dungeons for 30 years. It's a Bethesda thing I guess. They have always been weak in characters. They seem to focus more on clutter and ingredients than NPC models.

They don't have centralized heating. The single most calorie burning thing that our bodies do, is produce heat. Skyrim is cold.

There should definitely be some bulkier people, some bigger boned body types if you will. However when we get into "the blob" territory it gets absurd.

[snip] A really cheap solution is to make some set of "fat" clothes and put it on merchants. The body model remains the same, but the clothing is just "fat". But that's just an idea, have no clue about modding lol.

Well ignoring all this silly arguing. Yeah that is a pretty cheep solution... i'd guess its a little complicated currently with out the CS since it would mean we'd need to make duplicates of the clothing and make sure that the NPC has it and not the skinny version... but yeah... coool idea

  • 1 year later...

Not to burst your idea.

But Skyrim is a inhospitable land filled with Wolves, Bears, Spriggans, Necromancers and Frost Trolls.

Not to mention Dragons.

I honestly reckon all the fat people would have been wiped out since they would have been too slow to run from a Dragon.

Skyrim name: Raggvard the fat dragonborn?
