HELP NEEDED

Fallout 4

I'll get right to the point. Something like 1/2 of the mods I've installed do not work.

I am running the game on PC via Steam. I downloaded all of the mods with NMM. When i went into the files before modding I found that i did not have a Fallout4Custom.ini, so I made one and added the required lines. I've modded other games (mainly Skyrim) before, both with and without the NMM and believe I have done everything correctly.

What confuses me most is that some of the mods are working and some are not. For example: "No Negative Affinity and No Affinity Cooldown", and "True Storms" work, but "CBBE" and "Easy To See Glowing Mags" does not.

If you have any guesses or possible solutions please tell me.

Thanks

I'm guessing you're using open beta NMM. It is really buggy right now and doesn't install some mods properly. You can try running NMM as administrator when you install mods, but that doesn't always work. You may have better luck getting support in the open beta NMM forums as I don't think the devs check here.

The most likely cause of your problems is NMM hasn't installed the files in the correct sub-directories. For Bodyslide, regardless of where the "\BodySlide" directory is, all the sub-folders such as ShapeData, SliderGroups etc, need to be there, and all outfits that have Bodyslide files, need to be copied into those same sub-directories (including the CBBE files) otherwise you'll get the blank drop down menus you're seeing.

The other issues you mention also seem to be related to modded files not being put into their correct and/or respective directories under the "\Data" folder. (Materials, Meshes, Textures, Scripts etc)

I stopped using NMM after the total frack up and goat f**k that occurred when they changed the whole way it worked. And as far as I can tell, it's still buggy (which is probably fitting for a Bugthesda game) but it's a PITA. I just find it "safer" to manually install mods now.
