TexMod won't load anything for ME2

Hello

Somehow I can not get Texmod to load ANY .tpf for Mass Effect 2 for me.

I have no trouble using Texmod for ME 3.

I have absolutely no clue why this is or what this could cause. I already tried different ways using Texmod even with the help of the small .bat script which worked so nice for 3.

I'm using Windows 10, play Mass Effect on Origin (Origin In-Game is OFF), with AVG as my Antivirus Software (which is of course turned off for the use of Texmod) and my Coalesced is a bit modified.

I'm not even 100% sure if this a problem with Texmod, but seems to me most likely.

The problem I have is following, I run ME2 via Texmod

(standard procedure: renaming MassEffect2.exe to MassEffect2.exebak; Renaming Texmod.exe to MassEffect2exe; Run It; renaming both .exe files back; Choose Target Application MassEffect2.exe),

Package Mode - Choose my .TPF file (tried different of course), hit 'Run' and Mass Effect 2 starts. I load any of my existing Saves and the Texture shown is just the default one, not the one from the .tpf .

I already searched the web for any new ideas, disabled NVIDIA Experience and the likes, but nothing worked so far.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated! :ninja:

This is probably a Windows 10 issue, TexMod is very old and made for DX9.

Quite simply it's outdated, and better alternatives exist, for all 3 games.

You can use ME3Explorer to unpack TPF files, and/or install them permanently, where TexMod just added them in memory.

ME3Explorer - Wiki

ME3Explorer - Nexus Mods

However a better alternative has recently appeared, which only installs DDS textures, but is much faster than ME3Explorer, even if you have to use ME3Explorer to unpack the TPF files first.

MEM - Mass Effect Modder - Wiki

MEM - Mass Effect Modder - Stable 1.22 Release

This is the best Mass Effect Texture Installer yet, for Example the A Lot Of Textures for ME2 package (1000 Textures approx) takes several hours, using ME3Explorer, but about 15 minutes, at most using MEM.

It's that much better, and once the MEM pack is created, it's even quicker to reinstall.
