topeira
two different questions: 1) grass in my game doesnt seem to recieve shadows from trees and ground. under the darkness of a try (day time) when the ground and my own characters are black the grass is still very bright. it looks way off. is there a command to put in an INI file that fixes this?! 2) can i change skyrim.ini or skyrimpref.ini and enter a console command during gameplay to make the game load the updated INI file so i dont have to quit the game to test the changes? thanks
eltacobueno
The ini settings load when the game initially starts up. I dont think there is an ini setting for the grass, but i havent done much tweaking to it. More then likely its a texture thing. Since grass doesnt physically effect anything in the world. It just looks pretty.
topeira
do you think there is some ISSUE with my grass textures? is it supposed to be like that in vanilla too? (that grass doesnt get darker in the shade)
Korbane
Sorry for massive bump, got here via google. However in all my searching I have been unable to find an answer to this, and I am interested due to modding ideas so it seems like an appropriate bump. I REALLY want to know if it shadows are like this for everyone (ie no shadows on grass) or if its graphics card or settings thing. The reason being is I was considering making a mod related to ground cover, but I wont bother if the lighting is so horrible on the grass objects.
