brt88965
I want to convert some skin textures I use in Skyrim for personal use in Fallout 4. Can I use Gimp 2 to do it? If so, how to the different files from Skyrim correlate to the _d, _n, and _s DDS files? Thanks
Trosski
_d is diffuse which is the _d, _n is normal which is just .dds i believe, and you will need to create an _s if there is no _m. your can convert your normal texture to jpg, or png with paint.net or photoshop, and drop it in this normal map site to get your specular/_s. Then convert the file you get to .dds.
brt88965
Okay. Thanks for the info. Sounds like it's not a simple open and save operation in Gimp.
Trosski
you should be able to just add the Skyrim textures to a FO4 materials file. I did the same thing when I ported an Enclave Power armor suit into FO4 from NV. As I said... the only thing is that you may need a new specular texture if the skyrim version doesn't have one. the file names don't really matter. Their function is the same.
