Camera movement while auto-walking

I seem to remember being able to do this in oblivion, but not in skyrim.

While i have auto walk/run engaged, I remember being able to press the middle mouse button and control the camera around my character as he moved in oblivion. But this does not work in skyrim.

(it was one of the ways i was able to appreciate my character mods while just traveling around...)

Am i missing something here on how to do this in skyrim, does anybody else remember this?

I did a quick google search and all i came up with are people figuring out you can press the console joysticks in to control the camera zoom.

Open the console and type " tfc" (without quotes) = Toggle Fly Cam mode ... Might be someone will make a "Screenshot Mod" once the CK comes out

Maybe someone could create a bat file that sets the Fly Cam, turns off the compass and aiming cross, and another bat to set it all back again. Then, open console and fire off the bat, take some screenies, and then fire off the other bat and keep playing. :thumbsup:

The inability to rotate the camera while moving was my first gripe about the game. I too would like to see this properly addressed, once the CS comes out. The ideal solution would be a hotkey that removes HUD clutter and allows camera rotation, similar to the temporary solution proposed by NoobusExtremus.

well you dont really need fly cam, because you CAN rotate the camera around while standing still AND weapons put away...

So it sounds like we'll have to wait for a creation engine mod to bring back that feature.

thanks though.

Fly Cam Screenshot Mode on :

Create a text file called flycamon with the following lines (the extra text is optional of course) :

;Fly Cam Screenshot Mode

;

tgm; so you don't accidently die while filming/snapshotting

tm; removes all HUD elements and menus *** see warning ***

tfc; The fly cam mode

;tai; optional - turns off NPC AI so they just stand there doing nothing or continue there previous tasks i.e sweeping that one spot on the floor

;

;TO REVERT TO NORMAL

;OPEN THE CONSOLE AND TYPE

;bat flycamoff

**** WARNING *** Using the 'tm' command WILL hide your view of the console as well, It's still there, It's just invisible, so you better remember how to spell

Fly Cam Screenshot Mode off :

Create a text file called flycamoff with the following lines:

;Undoes the Fly Cam Screenshot Mode

;

;tai; optional if you turned AI 'off' in Flycan On

tfc

tm

tgm

Forgive me that this reply does not focus on auto-walking in particular. As for now we're forced into either 1st person, 3rd person or free fly cam perspective.

I I think I'm on the brink of finding out a way to enable more advanced character control. Check out this proof of concept that shows that it's possible (with limitations, as for now) to film and control your character without being either in 1st or 3rd person.

Still keeping an eye out for camera movement while auto-walking mods. The goal is not for screenshots or movies, etc. But just to look around while traveling.

I did find out however that you can move the camera around while standing still WITH weapons drawn by holding the F button down.
