DavideMitra
Hi all! I have installed Elsweyr: Deserts of Anequina...Elsweyr is a desert region, so I taught that it would be a nice thing to change the music, replacing it with arab music. (like Gothic 3's Desert Sun, that remembers me the Varant desert) I tried to replace the music but the new music doesn't works. For example...I open Oblivion folder/data/music/explore. Then I delete all mp3 files (atmosphere_01 to atmosphere_09), I copy the Desert Sun track in this folder and I rename it atmosphere_01 (I also tried atmosphere_03 etc).I close the folder and start playing oblivion. I open a savegame in the wilderness but I don't hear any new music (I also tried to enter a new cell and return in the wilderness, the music doesn't work! There's no music audio).A part from that, I'm also unable to exit game: I push "esc" but I'm unable to click on exit game (or the other voices), so I must use Task Manager to be able to exit game. Other informations:-I have the latest patch-I have the original cd-I don't have any mods that change the ingame music-I tried to have a look to my audio options....the music is maxed, so this isn't the problem I was looking for xD Sorry for bad english! :)

Could you post your load order with a spoiler tag? And give us more information such as your system specs, utility softwares you're using etc etc? DrakeTheDragon
This came up again only recently in a different topic. Mind the "tags" of the MP3 files by all means. Apart from the "bitrate" having to be a very specific one, Oblivion really dislikes those tags in the meta data!Oh, and there's no need to mess with the filenames. Oblivion doesn't take these into account when creating the playlists. Any filenames will be played and any number of MP3s in a folder. The latter two might have some restrictions in place (invalid special characters, number limits), but I'm not aware of any right away.
Septfox
This came up again only recently in a different topic. Mind the "tags" of the MP3 files by all means. Apart from the "bitrate" having to be a very specific one, Oblivion really dislikes those tags in the meta data! That was my first thought, actually. I read somewhere that stripping the ID3 tags from files is not only good practice, it's required to make'em work a lot of the time. Here: ID3 Kill sounds as though it should do exactly what you need.As for bitrate needs, loading a file into Audacity and exporting it to the proper bitrate using the LAME MP3 encoder should do the trick, if you don't already have something better to use. The music currently in my folder is encoded at 128kbps, so that might be a good place to start. Good luck.
DavideMitra
Septfox, I dowloaded the programs you told me to download, then I removed the tags and I used lame and audacity...Thank you very much! Now my music works perfectly!! (However thanks also to Drake the Dragon and to Shinobi 2008 for the interest ;) ) I have another question...for example the track Desert Sun is very long (up to 6 minutes)..but when it ends it doesn't loop...is there a solution for it?Thank you! Septfox
Nope! :v What? Oblivion doesn't do looping music. What do you think this is, an RPG? You could try BetterMusicSystem, making a single-track playlist...that might work. But I have no idea how BMS handles Elsweyr (if it does at all), since it's made up of world spaces, and it probably wouldn't be a "proper" loop (fade in/out when the track ends). Something to try, I guess. Sorry I can't think of something more definite for you, but Bethesda just didn't have area-specific looping music in mind when they made the game :\ Also regardless, BMS or its older cousin EMS are still worthy additions to the game. They make the music flow much, much better.

I need to wait half minute for the loop..as you said, it isn't a proper loop, but this isn't a problem for me!!-When I'm in Cyrodiil, I can hear different songs...I can put a song for Bruma region, another song for Southern swamps (Leyawiin region) etc etc.......like in Gothic 3: Varant explore theme, Myrtana explore theme etc etcFantastic!! That's the sound system I was looking for.Thank you again for the help, bye! :) Edited January 5, 2012 by DavideMitra
