WildDragonfly
Hi all! I doubt this is possible right now, but with the CK coming out soon enough I hope one of the awesome modders out there enjoy the idea as much as I do! I see this mod having great immersion value and perfect for those who enjoy roleplaying. Essentially I would love to see a horse and carriage which the player can drive around. Being able to purchase the carriage would add even more so to immersion, but free is good too. Perhaps you can find an abandoned carriage out in the wilderness? Who knows right. FEATURES (That I would personally love to see with it.) Once you mount the carriage your follower and dog then hop in, and situate themselves near the back where they will be ready to hop out and defend you should the need arise. In my mind I see the follower at the back on sitting on the right bench, and the dog laying on the floor facing the back near the left bench. (This view is from the back of the carriage)If you have the revised horses mod, I don't think there would be an issue with your other horse following but I'm not sure. A wooden chest to transport your goods along on your travels, or perhaps move them to another residence.Though it doesn't really matter, I think the perfect spot for the chest would be in the cargo area on the floor directly behind the driver seat. Realistic horse speed. While a horse can pull a carriage at a run it is more likely that it would pull it at a fast trot I believe... with that said it would be nice if the sprint speed of the carriage was closer to the normal run of a horse rather than the default sprint speed, and the normal movement of the carriage were closer to a trot speed rather than the default run speed. Being able to choose the pull horse.Of course this is not a huge issue, to me anyways. But still it would be nice if we were able to assign a specific horse to the carriage. This horse being separate so you still have a ride-able horse aside from the carriage. I'm sure I thought of more last night, but I cannot recall the ideas at present. I'll be sure to edit should the need arise. Feed back and suggestions are highly welcome. Thank you for reading! ^_^
JanusForbeare
I think all the necessary animations are there. The only thing I'm unsure about are the wagon wheels themselves. To my knowledge, you never get a clear view of the wheels on a moving wagon. They may not be capable of moving independently of the rest of the wagon until someone alters the mesh. I like this idea and support it. It goes well with a suggestion I made a few days ago, for the option for "long-version" wagon rides between cities. WildDragonfly
Ah you're right about that. Hopefully making the wheels spin wouldn't be too much of a hassle for someone =\ I've thought that might have been nice myself, as that's what I expected when I first tried out the carriage travel. I thought at least some sort of clip could be played but I was disappointed to instantly see a loading screen. It would be lovely to view the ride (or at lease some of it). JanusForbeare
I had the same reaction. Not only do you fade to black, but 90% of the time the load screen cuts off the latter half of the cabbie's commentary (for the record, I noticed a funny oversight the other day while riding to Whiterun: the cabbie refers to the castle as "Dragonsearch", not "Dragonsreach"). Rotating the wheels should be easy enough for one of the many, many mesh/anim artists on this site. Hopefully someone will take on this project soon. WildDragonfly
xD I never noticed that before! That is certainly an interesting over-sight considering that Dragonsreach is so important to the game. Ah well, mistakes are only human hehe.Yes I hope to too! -crosses fingers-
