[Modelling] Texture ideas for dagger?

As the title says, I'm a modeler and I am looking for some ideas for my project. Here is what I have.

I like the two-tone blade. Makes me think of the older (pre-crucible steel) viking blades, with harder edges and softer core. The side surface of the gold portion seems to be begging for a pattern or inlay of some kind, perhaps a generic rune or scroll work. I really like the Damascus-ish look of the steel also, and who doesn't like a shiny wood grip? I can't see the pommel ring in this one, but if you haven't already, you may want to extend the gold slightly, like a band at the tail end of the grip, before moving to the steel pommel ring. Gives the impression the gold core doesn't just stop at the handle.

 

Really outstanding modeling work. I wish I had the first clue what to do with 3d modeling.

nice progress! the addition of the pattern in the gold is a nice touch. if it was me, i would try to give it a specular mask texture to take some shine out of your wood. you could even split the mesh where different textures are applied so you could control the BSShaders separately in NifSkope.
