I've never been able to actually talk with Vex, and I've only ever been able to bring up Delvin's training option. Once, I had a conversation with Vex, (there was an optional quest point to ask her about a man named Vlad,) but other than that, she will only talk to me if I start the restitution quest (I attack a guild member.) The rest of the time she just says "I'm not holding your hand. Figure it out on your own" or something like that. A part of the problem might be that, when I started the Thieves Guild quest line, I never received the Thieves Guild armor, but I didn't mind, so I never looked into it. I should point out that I don't have many saves to go back to. This is my second playthrough, the first time the Thieves Guild quest line glitched before I could even start, so this time, I started the Thieves Guild Quest as soon as I could (after I killed the first dragon, at Whiterun.)
kane4355 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Yea I am actually having the same issue. done everything fro console commands for altering the different quests to attacking a guild member. I never got the thieves guild armor either but i also console added those into my inventory and i dont even get the dialogue from Tonilia to upgrade my gear. Also Delvin keeps telling me to come back to him when I have proven myself to the Brynjolf. If you console getstage TG01 it should be 200 signifying you completed the quest at which point the dialogue for them should become open, but its not doing so. Ive also tried altering TGleadership with no changes done as it stays at 0. I would think that is only because of the fact that You need to complete the side quests and special quests before it can even be attainable. I also had an unusual issue with the "no stones unturned" quest not completing properly as it stated i needed to obtain thieves guild member status even after i completed the mainquest line. I just went into the console and did setstage TGCrown 10 and it completed that putting a quest marker over Vex, which i still cannot i talk to her. there is a huge glitch on this for me and I thought i was the only one. Also are you using any mods that alter the game other than graphics? i want to see if we have any mods that are the same that could be affecting it.
kaelthas1717 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 same problem here. its been several patches and i still have this problem. the first character i ever played was fine and did not have this problem, but that was made before most of the patches. anyone find a fix yet? i dont see how it could be any of the mods i have, they're just texture replacers, crafting, etc. i've posted about this everywhere and no one seems to know any fix (if i even get a response at all)

Even with the CK i have dropped it. I created a new save and the one mod that I think may have effected it, "vendors have more money" was turned off and my new character is able to do the thieves guild quests. but it also could be in retrospect to the fact that ive paid more attention to what i actually need to do in the quest line now that i have read up on it more and know what to do now.

grimper12341 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Yeh I got this too, and it's confirmed it's from the Vendors have more money mod. I havn't got an old save to go back to and I've been fiddling with the console for ages, but still no luck in fixing it :( Anyone got a breakthrough yet?
