so what's happening is my character is really laggy and moves slow, I cant see the weapons attack, and its starting to get annoying D=.

I've tried setting graphics to low, going into advance and taking all reflect off water, what else can I do.

thanks Zotx

I doubt it will make a difference, but I am re-installing skyrim. I have the same problems and it worked fine before 1.3 came out. Bethesda better fix this or this is the last game of theirs I will ever buy PC or console. I have turned shadows off unless I did it wrong. I do know there are several ways and only one way that will decrease framerates. Is there a way to keep steam from installing the latest patch?

Just wondering how big your save game file is. There is a problem for some that if your save game is over 12 mgs it will start to slow down like this. PS3's have this problem in a big way. If you have back up all your save files and any mods you have, you can try a new install and see if that does anything. But be for you do that start a new game and see if it plays any better. Also you can try and remove all but your last save game to see if that helps, some one said it did for them.

Mine was not that big, could not have been it was at the beginning of the game, when you go into the keep.

Had similar problem... after few minutes skyrim began to stutter... tried everything (skse install, game booster, other tweaks...), no success....

Then i did disable some bios parts controlling the processor temperature and fan :

hardware thermal control - disable

smart fan - disable

c1e support - disable

cool ´n´ quite - disable

And now it works... ;-) Seems that this is a processor speed problem, not one of the graphics adapter speed.

But, please, do all bios settings on your own risk !

Yes it very wall could be the cpu getting hot and the system cutting the cpu speed to help control the temp, if you are going to cut all that stuff of you need to find some app that will turn your fans on to full when gaming just to be safe. On my old Dell I use i8kfangui to do this, I don't know if it will work for the new cpu's or not but worth a try. Some Info on my system so you can compare.

Dell XPS M1710

Core 2 duo @ 2.01 ghz

2g of ram

Nvidia 7900 GTX

CPU temp in game around 145F

GPU temp in game max 185F

Game speed on medium settings

in towns 18-25

in caves 25-30

in open area 30+

Game v 1.3

Game play time over 250hrs

hope you get it work out.

To disable shadows

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim

change iShadowMapResolution=512 to iShadowMapResolution=1 in SkyrimPrefs.ini

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Skyrim

fInteriorShadowDistance=0

fShadowDistance=0
