Any Ideas to improve performance with 1.3 patch?

My computer often made 40 to 60 FPS in Skyrim with settings I used and since 1.3 came out, my FPS dropped like a rock. Even with shadows turned off and the exact same settings. This is really irritating considering I paid $60 for this game and it worked fine before for the 90ish hours I have played.

 

My computer is nothing special, but it ran the game decently with:

 

1.6 gigahertz I7 Q 720

6 Gigs of DDR3 RAM

windows 64-bit

Nvidia GT 230M

 

Sadly I cannot go back to 1.2 because I bought my game on steam which will not install the game with any version other than 1.3. Anyone got any Ideas (sigh).
