Trying to make a player house mod

I'm fairly new to modding as I've only made a dungeon/quest mod. I am looking to make a player home mod but I don't know how to start. I have the interior cell made but I don't know what building parts I should use. I also don't know how to connect the house to the outside world and have a map marker either. Thanks in advance!

Side note: How can I load all the DLCs so I can use that content as well?

Ok, you have the interior made. Double click on some interior architectural piece and see what set it comes from (ie: WR = Whiterun). Then go to the object window (left column) and expand static > architecture > Whiterun > etc. (or possibly static > dungeon, if that particular set (Imperial) falls under dungeons.) From there, you can drag your exterior to wherever in the world you want it. If it's something like a farm house, you can choose one of several models to plant in the world. If it's something Imperial, you would need to use exterior structure components to build your fort, walls, etc.

When it comes time to put a door on, choose the door you want. Anim usually is the interior doors that just open or close, while load door is usually to get in and out of new cells. Some load doors are not marked as load doors. When in doubt, don't be afraid to inspect the door of a house you like, to see which one it is. Once you've placed it in the world, move it into position and make sure it fits. Double-click it, and move that box off to the side. Go to the interior cell, place your door inside, taking care to make sure the knob is on the correct side. Then go to that box you opened when you were outside, click the "teleport" tab, and there should be an option (off top of my head, not sure on the exact wording) that lets you

select the target door for teleport. Once you click it, it should put a small set of cross hairs in a circle, on your render window. Remember, you're working on the teleport tab of the outside door, while you're inside the cell, so you would put the cross hairs on the inside door and set it. This links the inner and outer doors, so you can go in and out.

Press M to turn on markers, and find the teleport box inside. For me, it's usually stuck somewhere in the middle of the door. Make sure that's where you want to be standing, when you come inside, and that the little 'beak' faces the way you want to be. There is one outside you'll need to find and position, as well. Easiest way to get back is double click on the door and take the option to see the corresponding door. It will put you back outside, looking at your door.

Here's something that may help on the map marker and door.

Here's the starter, and then the top has a link to the tutorial hub, where you find a list of the job-specific ones.

For some reason, I have always had trouble finding doors too. Some of them aren't labeled with their corresponding architecture. I usually will click "all" at the bottom of the object window, then just search "door" and peruse the list. You can always right-click > preview, which will persist each time you click on another item in the list, until you find the one you want. When you have, x out of the preview, though, as it tends to make drag/drop a bit of a pain.

I found a door and it fit in the house I put in. The problem now is that I can't find a door to match any of the interior entranceways that are for Solitude. All the entranceways where a door would go are too large for SHouseDoor03.

As long as they're the same shape, you can enlarge the door or shrink it, to make it fit. Double click on the door, go to the 3d tab, and change the scale.

It's probably easiest for you to look at a few other Solitude cells and find a door you like, double click it and take note of its editor name. Then search/find it and go back into your cell, place it from there.
