Negative Armor Rating on Items

DESCRIBING YOUR ISSUE

I realized after playing for a few days that after i took off my Dragonscale armor, the vanilla kind, Certain armor pieces in the game showed a negative armor rating, and the more pieces i took off the lower it went, example is Barbarian Gloves dropped from 32 AR to 2 AR and after all was taken off, it was -18. Problem is, when i put my Dragonscale armor back on, the effect appears to be permanent on the Barbarian Gloves until I temper it, but that's just a theory, considering that you cant temper negative numbers, so i would think somehow the Tempering(Improving) process resets the AC to normal, and then applies the bonus.

PROVIDING NEEDED INFORMATION

The difficulty is that it's not crashing, and in fact doesnt seem to have any negative effect on the game at all...Its just really annoying and I am worried it will cause some kind of underlying issue. Anyone else have this? or have thoughts?

I dont believe I had anything else running at the time. But I also believe Something has gone terribly wrong because I havent used OpenCities recently, I actually restarted from scratch but never turn Opencities back on. If anyone else sees anything else that might cause some bad effects, please let me know; Im still new to this, but I have a stable game, its just dirty for lack of a better word; and i dont have the know how or experience to fix it.
