Simply put, what you do on your own system is nobody else's business but your's. If they don't even "know", how could they be bothered?

 

But as soon as you make public what you did, i.e. distributing as your mod, your rework or improved version or whatever of someone else's mod, or even your patch to someone else's mod but containing and redistributing modified parts of their mod, and in case of this website even showing pictures of your mod in some cases, that's when there will be a problem.
