dark knight detective
First, I've been searching for over 2 hours, and can't find what I'm looking for in the forums, so please don't flame me for asking this. Doing the Drunk and Disorderly quest for the Fighter's Guild, I've learned that the guys are upset that they don't have any work. In the Official Guidebook, it tells me that if my disposition is at least 40, any Leyawiin resident will point me to Margarte. This is where I'm having my problem. With most residents, my disposition is near 100 (I just closed an Oblivion Gate outside town), but none of them have any topics relating to this quest when I talk to them. Have I overlooked something? Or should I just go to the official walk-thru and get the console command to advance the quest? I'm on the PC. Malchik
The Argonian behind the bar should point you to Margarthe. However you have to have been given the relevant topic by the leader of the troublemakers. I haven't heard that the quest is bugged. Check out on UESP website, they sometimes list odd bugs that can crop up. If they have nothing try taking to the three guys causing trouble again (making sure you don't miss anything), then speak to Witseidutsei and then Margarthe directly. If nought else works there is always the console.

No mention of Margarthe. I looked for Margarthe and she's nowhere to be found now. The map doesn't point to her because I haven't been told to look for her. What's the console command to advance this quest?
Malchik
For future reference here is how you can find quest stage info. In the construction set tick Oblivion in data files. Once it's loaded go to Character, then quests and look down for the one you want (they begin with FG, Dark, MG or TG if guild quests). Once you highlight the specific quest you are interested in, you can see the stages by clicking the second tab on the box that appears to the right of the quest list. The command 'getstage code' will tell you what stage the journal shows you to be at, then 'setstage code quest level' will reset the level to where you want it. (Commands are given without the inverted commas) The quest code you need is FGD02DandD. So Getstage FGD02DandD will show where you are. It should be 55 - that is the command which tells you to talk to the townsfolk; the next level is 60 which locates the source of work as Margarthe. If you still have probs get back to me. Before using the command you might want to check and see what quest level you are at as it is not ALWAYS a good idea to skip a level (mostly it doesn't matter.) I am having a similar problem as the Fighter's guild glitch. I tryed to understand what you put about the console commands but I am confused. I don't use console but I think I am going to have to in this situation. I am stuck on this quest... Leyawiin Recommendation -I've defeated Kalthar, who was attempting to manipulate Dagail. I need to give her this information immediately. I have got stuck on this quest 2 times now. The first time I just restarted the game from scratch thinkin I was never going to be able to get into the Arcane University. I put a lot of time into the game and was really upset when I had to start over. Now I am at this quest and I am running into the same problem. I have the amulet and I killed Kalthar but Dagail says something about the voices haven't gone away. I am sooooo frusterated. If you could help me with the console command to finish this quest I will be forever grateful. Thank you!
Malchik
Firstly it is possible to get a bug in this quest. See this extract from UESP. "Do not leave Fort Blueblood without encountering and talking to Kalthar. He should come running right after you retrieve the amulet from Manduin's Coffin. If you do leave before you will not be able to give the amulet to Dagail. If you kill Kalthar and leave before he speaks you cannot complete the quest. Once you speak to Dagail back at the guild, she will say that 'nothing has changed'. If you try to return to Kalthar's body, the door is locked. Meaning you cannot continue in the Mage's Guild." Secondly, sometimes people forget to scroll to the bottom of a dialogue box. Not every topic always shows up in the window. I think in Dagail's case you need to scroll down to advance the quest. (You pull down the marker on the bar to the right of the dialogue box.) If you have to use the console it is Setstage MG07Leyawiin 100. I assume this generates the necessary recommendation as well as completing the quest but I don't know for sure.
