Anyone else having this issue

Hi, guys,

I am modding Oblivion for the 1st time, I know, I know. But I go and download mods like DarNified UI, Oblivion Reloaded, really any of the older stuff; I get the error message 404 Not Found. Is does not matter if it is manual or with manager. I am using NMM for my mod manger. Any thoughts?

Do you happen to have maybe some links to the actual mods' pages so one can go and check for oneself?

There's been multiple people reporting issues with the download redirect pages not loading, or like here 404-ing, and it's usually to do with the CDN in certain regions or certain Premium servers. Somewhere during distribution from the primary upload server (wasn't it Kent Premium?) and the several other hosts all over the world some files got lost at some times it seems, and the admins went out of their ways to figure out what, when, why and fix it.

If it actually is the filedelivery.nexusmods.com domain 404-ing on your end, it's likely to do with a general connection problem between you and the CDN node closest to you. Small-area regional issues with temporary durations are a reoccurring thing at times with the CDN it seems. Did you try changing your download preferences on the site and/or in the NMM to try one of the Premium servers first instead, being a Premium member already and all?

edit: Coming to think of it I recently actually ran into some similar issues myself where the download popups kept loading almost indefinitely. When I let them load until the end they 404-ed, but when I aborted their loading halfway-through via the browser the actual download process did in fact actually start right away after that. Not sure what was going on, but if it's the same for you right now, maybe simply aborting the endless load of the popups could help you, too.

2nd edit: Regarding the NMM, I don't know if it was even reactivated again after the recent news article informing users of its temporary deactivation to compensate the additional stress put onto the backend due to the massive influx in Skyrim Special Edition page visits and downloads back then. But if it was still deactivated, it should be saying so right on the screen when you open it, if I'm not mistaken.

Off hand, no I don't happen to have the links. Usually I ran across them doing google searchs for mods, tried to access and like you got 404's or sometimes just the Nexus page where you pick what game your wanting mods for. occasionally I found them using links in Nexus forum topics. sorry.

Sorry about that. The next time I run across one I'll save the link location. I'm always looking for mods for various games so I'm sure to run across more fail.

@DrakeTheDragon

Hello! I'm not sure which links you are actually wanting, but this link http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/44676/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Foblivion%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D44676&pUp=1 is from the Oblivion Character Overhaul v2 (this isn't the only mod that 404s). Whenever I try to download using both the North America Premium server and the CDN manually, the page goes to a 404 error (It also says nginx/1.11.5 but I'm not sure if this is even relevant). Using both servers with NMM causes the download to fail (says "There was an error downloading this file" from fileserver Canada).

I hope this is the type of link you were wanting.

Edit: I hadn't tried the Europe server since I figured it would be faster on the North American one, but now (Dec, 24th) CDN and the Europe Server #1 (should have tried using this before) are allowing me to download both manually and with manager. Not sure why the American one is causing me to 404 on Oblivion mods only.

i'm also having issue with mass 404s, 8/10 mods i attempt to download are doing just that, and it's always the "filedelivery" domain

both manual and NMM downloads are failing consistently... i miss being able to manually select which download server to use

Hmm, something seriously seems to be amiss right now. I'm unable to download Oblivion mods as well.

There's already a bug report inside the tracker about this, too. Might help adding your reports to it as well.

I'll try messing around with my download preferences to see if it's only the CDN now or all in general/only specific servers perhaps. But something definitely seems to not be right, and it's not to do with the common connection issues not getting through to the CDN from certain locations this time either.

edit: Oh, and, Happy New Year... even though right now it's not so happy at all.

edit2: With clever timing on aborting load of the page I was able to get to the selection screen. Seems only Premium server Europe 1 does not 404 for me. If I recall correctly that's the primary server where all files go first before distribution to the others and the CDN. I'd wager a guess and say distribution is currently wonky in some way.
