Kicking NPCs out

I'm working on a personal mod in which I'm trying to build a sanctuary in the style of Aelid dungeons. I already got a good part of the inner part completed, where I also put 4 custom made NPCs, two elves and two dremoras. I put a portal door to that place into my Waterfront house so I can go there to actually see what I have so far from the game perspective. But for some reason, now there are anywhere from 1 (Puny Ancus) to literally 30 random ass NPC walking in there. Or inside my actual house, which slows everything down considerably. I even put a Hard level lock on that door and checked the "off limits" box on the dungeon editing menu. Can someone tell me how to get them to stop harassing me? Puny Ancus is always there for some reason, but the rest come and go as they please. So yeah, WTF?

The first thing that comes to mind is did you use any of the game NPCs as models for your custom NPCs? Or, did you look at any NPCs while you were in the CS. If so, It's possible you have some 'dirty' references that are carried over from the game into your mod.

Tes4geko has a function to clean those dirty references and Tes4view can help you find mod conflicts better than anything else I have tried.

This might stop Puny from inviting his friends over to party when you are not home.

Let us know what you find as it will help other newbie moders (Me)
