I've been attempting to create a simple "heavy revolver" mod from the vanilla in-game pistol (always thought the design of it looked cool but felt it lacked the oomph the deign signalled, so I wanted to create a next tier/upgradable ballistic version more in line with what I'm thinking similar size, big bore revolvers can do in real life). I've been using Kwahn's terrific tutorial videos as a step-by-step guide, as well as ZDU's neat OTs-38 mod as a template for creating the schematics file and more, and also for cross checking my code. The solution builds successfully, and when I go to debug in strategy mode, I can build the revolver in engineering no problem, although I do get a red screen error that I cannot quite decipher, see image: After this (and despite the error msg.), it appears as a loadout option in the armory, new weapon name and improved stats included. I am able to equip the weapon to my sharpshooters both in strategy and in tactical mode. However when I enter battle in either mode, the soldiers refuse to give me the option to fire it, and although I can put them on pistol overwatch they wont use it then either. Any ideas what has been going wrong? I can try and dig up some of the code if needed later on, but thought I'd pop a quick question first in case someone had a solution to it. Edit: seems like it works fine in-game even if I couldn't get it to work in the debug tactical mode, so for now you can ignore this request.
