Belgianfox
Hey everyone, my Fallout 3 game seems to be having a glitch where these particles, I'm not sure which ones but they could be dust ones glitch. I've had this glitch for ages now, but finally got enough of it as it breaks the immersion and is kind of annoying. It also occurs in both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, can someone help me please? This is an image of what I'm talking about: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/1555963-1325642821.jpg Thanks in advance. Jeoshua
Well if it is Dust Particles that are glitching, I know of a mod to remove them. Check my sig.
Belgianfox
I've checked out your mod, it seems quite nice. But I don't really want to remove the dust particles, I'd like to, well, keep them and fix them somehow. Sorry for the lack of information on this glitch. I've tried everything though, multiple reinstallations of Fallout 3 and New Vegas and the glitch would stay the same on both games. I tried changing the graphical settings in all possible ways, still the same glitch. But then again, maybe it would be a missing mesh/texture? I doubt that though, since if it would be missing that there would be a red error popping up instead of what shows on my screenshot. I hope someone can help me out with this one. Belgianfox
I've just figured out it's the "FXDustSimple01" that's glitching, this and my post above, plus the screenshot is all the information I have for now. Help would greatly be appreciated. :)
Jeoshua
No if the mesh or texture were missing, it would fall back to the files in the BSAs. It might work that you can look through the mesh\effects folder and find the mesh for it there. If you do, delete it, and the problem should go away. IF you've found the mesh's name, you can just as easily find the mesh's file. Edited January 4, 2012 by Jeoshua
Belgianfox
I don't have any texture/mesh mods installed for the moment. I've looked into the folder and there's none there. I then went ahead and actually looked into the BSA's, took them out and placed them into the correct mesh folder. That didn't work either though. Either way, if my system specs help anything, here they are: Processor Manufacturer: IntelProcessor Name / Type: Pentium ® Dual-Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10 GHzProcessor Speed: 2.10 GhzOperating System / Service Pack: Windows 7 64 bit, Updated to the last defenitions.System RAM: 4 GBVideo (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650Video Card Model: Mobility Radeon HD 4650Video display's default screen resolutionVideo Card onboard RAM: 1024 MBSound Card Manufacturer: HPSound Card Driver IDs: Sound Card Model: Integrated into the notebook system board. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Oh, and Jeoshua I'm using your Clean-Deluxe mod for now. But even then I've found a spot where there's a dust FX left over, somewhere in the Tenleytown/Friendship Station. Jeoshua
Well if a mod adds or changes the dust references, it will still be present. I load Clean-Deluxe really really late in the load order, right above lighting and weather mods. And that gets rid of 90% of it but if you're using something like an Interiors mod or something else that adds some dust that's not in the vanilla game, Clean-Deluxe won't turn it off. I could try searching the wasteland through scripts and disabling any one of a list of different object types, but ultimately right now it won't affect them. Actually, a compat patch might be in order here. Click on the dust mesh and see what it's offset number is (first two digits). Then compare that to your load order as FOMM sees it and tell me which mod it is. If it happens a lot like that, I may put out a patch. I already know the Interiors mod adds a lot of locations not in the base game, and they'll be swarming with dust and clutter stuff. It's really not that big of a deal in those cells since the people who made it were as sparse as they could be with those things... but if it's editing the outside too it might be worth it to make a Clean-Deluxe expansion
Belgianfox
The glitch I'm having, as seen on the screenshot occurs on both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, clean installation without any mods.
