Mod Project Request: Add a strategic aspect to Fallout 4

Hello Nexus

This post is a request for possibly a small team or maybe one very skillful modder to help me in creating a Total War-like experience in addition to the normal game. So that, instead of the minuteman general single handedly conquering the waste, he can command armies from his house! with the option of joining in the fight aswell.

The general idea is that the mod will add a workshop item that lets the player manage their chosen faction, with one war-table for each faction. The theory is that it will operate like a normal workbench but the interface will be a strategic overview of the commonwealth with turn based strategy elements like the Total War franchise. The player can earn each war-table by completing various quests, maybe he has to become sentinel before he can command the brotherhood or become the overboss to start raiding the commonwealth.

It may be preferable to create this mod in modules, to make the workload more manageable with the first module being the base mod with only the base game factions being available, Minutemen, BoS and Institute (Was thinking the Railroad wouldnt be that likely to outright conquer a settlement, maybe just mercenaries or intelligence).

  • A.I will consist of the Supermutants, The various Raider gangs(unless the NukaWorld Module is made), The Children of Atom(unless the FarHabour Module is made) and the Feral Ghoul Horde.
  • Each faction can gain faction perks, probably not that many, just a few buffs here and there, earned by completing quests such as Faction gains more caps for allying with bunker hill for example.
  • Simple Faction diplomacy options, like affinity level with the faction to the player, certain actions may increase or decrease this
  • Strategic overview needs to correspond with the gameworld, so the mod needs to be able to manipulate spawnpoints to summon squads if the player wants the fight the battles.
  • Minutemen: cheap and slow to start but can snowball out of control due to settlements. Low mobility
  • BoS: expensive, strong, maybe only a set number of squads, may be able to recruit serfs from settlements to give them weak meatshields. Medium Mobility
  • Institute: Cheap, expendable units with good gear and powerful units in the form of coursers. High Mobility
  • Conquered settlements should spawn patrols of the controlling faction, similar to how the War of the Commonwealth mod spawns minuteman patrols based of happiness and population.
  • Factions can have heroes, mostly consisting of the companions (Preston, Danse, X6-88), can be upgraded with special gear and perks to better lead their squads. If voice actors are willing more heroes could be made.
  • Some terrain should be impassable, increasing the value of settelments like oberland station to secure access to Boston.

I have experience with modelling and am in the process of creating some gear for the factions but need help with getting the models in game, texturing and the scripting/creation kit side of things, please let me know if anyone is interested

I think this is a good concept, but imagine you'd have to scale it down. I dont know that I've ever seen more than like 6 people at one place in Fallout 4... Maybe just have the other factions take settlements and found their own, while you could do the same to them. Just make a generic "BoS Outpost" and "Replacer Settlement"
