Scrybe
I had a novel idea of actually using Umbra or another weapon with soul trap in a different way: depending on the level of the mob you killed, and which one it was (zombie, vampire, etc.) There could possibly be a side effect like summon soul trapped creature until it is killed, or have each creature type correspond to a spell/effect that could be invoked by the sword. For example, if I'm level 12 and have Umbra (which has the spell trap spell effect) and kill a lv.12 goblin, it's soul 'is trapped' in the sword. Umbra then gains the 'spells' (effects) [summon lv. 12 goblin or increase agi]. When I summon the goblin, and the lich necromancer kills it, it's soul permantly leaves the sword. Or as a special spell, the magicka charge converted from the soul trap is used as an attack [magicka burn/magicka blast, where it does 2x damage/sec, where x is the soul charge in Umbra] and it would decrease the magicka charge in Umbra. *maybe to balance it out the soul stays for 60 sec and tries to kill the soul trapper, 'cause I'd be upset it I was trapped in a sword :wallbash: * Also, a max of 3 creatures whose levels total 25 may be in Umbra. Then writing additional scripts (quest script) which can then add spells or do stuff. The limiting factor then would be what you want done, and under what conditions. It's possible, it just requires alot of scripting to make anything like this work... However you should try to do as little scripting through the actual weapon strike as possible and have quest scripts do most the work. Needless to say, this sort of effect will only work with specially scripted weapons.
