Assigning backup melee weapons

Hey everyone,

 

did you ever wonder why you would punch a ghoul with your bare hands or whip it with a revolver if you have a knife or even a machete in your inventory? How badass would it be to stagger a Deathclaw with your assault rifle and bring its health down and then finish it off with a knife? Pretty badass, am I right?

 

I'd love to be able to assign a backup weapon to your offhand for a melee emergency situation, that is used with the bash command.

If you don't assign a weapon to your offhand you would still bash with your weapon as regular.

 

Is this even possible or am I asking too much?
