Sarrok
Are all the mods activated in the mods tab and checked in the plugins tab? Also what type of mods are you trying to use? Texture packs? .esp?
dmlew
I'm also having the same problem. I have tried everything with the exception of moving my steam directory. I have used the nexus mod manager, installing them manually and individually, tried changing my Skyrim folder from "Read-only" only to watch it change back, checking "Load Loose Data" which apparently NEVER stays checked after I click OKAY, uninstalling and redownloading skyrim and all the mods I've wanted to use. I've also made sure that my plugins.txt is not "Read-only", which it isn't. I'm trying to useSkyrim HDSkyrim Flora OverhaulBetter FemalesSkyUI My systemIntel Core i7 2600k OC'd to 5.2Ghz16GB RAMGTX 460Win7 64bit Ultimate NSkyrim installed to D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim (C drive is a solid state) I'm at the end of my rope here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PowderdToastMan
Update steam and make sure you have it installed outside of program files x86 and are on an administrator profile. Download 7-zip 9.20 from wherever you want. (its free) They have it here on the nexus. Install the NMM from here: http://www.thenexusf...se-notes-01218/ If you download a mesh or texture replacer, you have the option to let the manager install it, but its best to learn first how to do it manually. When you download a mod, there is a large chance you will have to use 7-zip to unpack it. Simply right click on the file and choose to unpack here. After you do that, take the texture file (and meshes, and esp if the mod uses them) and place the folder in its entirety inside the data folder which can be found inside your skyrim folder. Make sure the folder you place inside the data folder is named textures or meshes. If the folder you drop in there says something else, manually go in and remove the mesh and texture folders from within and drop them loosely inside the data folder. If the mod uses an esp file, upon loading the mod manager, you will see it on the list and in need of being checked off. Check it off. Make sure it is below your skyrim esm. If you placed a texture replacer mod in your data folder you will need to click the wrench and screwdriver logo and reset archive invalidation on the mod manager. You must do this each time you install a new texture or mesh replacer. Then start the game...

dmlew
If your read only changes back then you are not on an administrative profile or have your steam folder installed under program filesx86 Thanks for the reply. I am the administrator of the computer, and it's only user. My Skyrim folder is located in a Program Files (x86) folder, but it is only a folder named that, not the windows program files (x86). My operating system is over on the C drive and everything else over on the D drive. I left the folder structure on the install the same so that all I would have to do is change a drive letter. I've tried a grand number of things to attempt to get this working. I'm really hoping to find a solution that doesn't involve moving my steam folder as I've got roughly 30 steam games installed right now and that will take a very long time to redo.
