sexyangel
Hello new here to creation kit, I want to mod and existing npc home in Riften Heartwood mill so I can take it over as my player home. Problem is when I look under the housing tab it shows the npc's as owner and that very same tab is greyed out so I can't change the home to player home. What do I do delete the npc and there quest reference? Have no idea how to get this little house and location set for player and get rid of the npcs. HELP please??? Thanks so much Angel... BuliwyfWolfgar
Hey there, have you thought of just having another mill with the same interior close by? That way you don't muck up your game by deleting a quest?
NexusComa
Just copy the whole thing and relocate it as a player home ... with the quest being there it's kind of off limits. :(
BuliwyfWolfgar
Rework it, change her factions, marry her after completing the quest, then you can own/run the mill and she'll set up shop to pay you 100 gold each day. 3000 to 3100 gold a month (Sell her your stuff each time, get a percentage back from it) and you could own the mill. or as NexusComa and I, suggested, relocate it. Duplicate the cell, remove her and her child, call something like Ironheart Mill, reset marker headings to match the exterior. Done. sexyangel
sorry people I guess I should have said in my question that I wanted the location over anything that's why I wanted to know if there was a way to mod it for my home.Heatwood mill has one of the best locations, and I don't want to marry her I'm a lady player and I don'y swing that way haha.. NexusComa
lol ... Well I'm not sure what you mean by the "housing tab". Can you post a picture ... (I use http://imgur.com/)I may be wrong here but as far as I know all you need to do is edit Interiors / Heartwoodmill like this http://i.imgur.com/81TR4yn.png Also make any chest or barrel to say the same under the ownership tab. Or edit the ones you add the same way.If it was me, I'd run the quest first (just to be sure the area was complete) then make my edits adding it to the game after.I guess also changing the [ Lock List ] to [ None ] ... I've never really tried anything like this so, not all to sure it will work out.I don't see why not. Didn't really follow the whole quest line but, if it's only the one quest just complete it (to be sure) and makeyour changes. Even if you did break the quest If it's just one side quest I still don't see the harm other then losing that quest. You may also need to change the exterior cell ownership ... again I've never tried this. The two cells ID's are HeartwoodMillExterior and HeartwoodMill <- (this is the cell I'm showing in the picture) You also could just make your own interior cell and change the door to teleport you there and not to the in game cell. That how all the cells work anyways ... Create a quest that makes the player the owner of the property and use this script to set the player faction as owner. http://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=SetFactionOwner_-_ObjectReference I am not sure how this would effect the current resident. You may also simply be able to add the player to the HeartwoodMillHouseFaction. http://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=AddToFaction_-_Actor Have a look in the Kit at the player home quests and see how they change ownership. NexusComa
"You may also simply be able to add the player to the HeartwoodMillHouseFaction." I was thinking that may be a way to do this too ...
agerweb
I have done this with Solitude lighthouse for personal use. You need to do the following: 1. Move the NPCs outside the structure in the interior cell if you don't want them and mark them as initially disabled.2. Change the ownership to Playerhome3. Unlock the door and change ownership to Playerhome or none4. You can ignore the quest because it will not progress unless you have a dialogue with Grosta (who is now disabled).5. Now make any changes to the interior that you want, but don't delete anything just move it like you did with the NPCs and set to initially disabled if you don't want it in the house. The same applies to stuff outside the house as well.
Masterofnet
Can you do me a favor? (After the Mill House quest is completed) created a quest that: 1. Disables the current residents.2. Adds the player to the HeartwoodMillHouseFaction.3. Makes the Mil House Key a quest alias and places it on the player. I think this is the simplest and best way to do what you are attempting to do. Let me know how it works. Heatwood mill has one of the best locations, and I don't want to marry her I'm a lady player and I don'y swing that way haha.. Glad to hear you are batting for the home team. Keep up the good work! Edited December 19, 2016 by Masterofnet
