sexyangel
I have done this with Solitude lighthouse for personal use. You need to do the following: 1. Move the NPCs outside the structure in the interior cell if you don't want them and mark them as initially disabled.2. Change the ownership to Playerhome3. Unlock the door and change ownership to Playerhome or none4. You can ignore the quest because it will not progress unless you have a dialogue with Grosta (who is now disabled).5. Now make any changes to the interior that you want, but don't delete anything just move it like you did with the NPCs and set to initially disabled if you don't want it in the house. The same applies to stuff outside the house as well. Here's some newbie qustions...How do I move them outside when in creationkit? How do you disable them too in CK? Now I have been doing modding for years just using codes not CK so I have no idea how to do that while in CK. Also under my Owner Faction button mine is still grey where I can't change it. Would that be because I haven't started my game yet and triggered her quest? Also why can't I delete the furniture too and replace the stuff in there if I leave the markers alone? Sorry everyone it's not that I'm being lazy I have watched tons of CK videos on U-tube and read the wiki's etc. This subject of taking over NPC homes is just not covered anywheres... sexyangel
Also eveyone I have a strange thing happening too while in CK, When I log into CK all is good there and I stay in Interiors tabe. Then I go into the House interior everything good there too. I click on the yellow box to travel outside and this is where it gets weird. It makes me reappear every single time on the side of the house on a red box marker??? Now the yellow marker is in the right position on the exterior door but I never appear there. agerweb
You don't necessarily appear on the yellow marker, your just dumped outside looking at the yellow marker, it's not a problem. If you double click any item in the CK render window you will get a reference window open one of the check boxes in the window is 'initially disabled' check that box and the item will be invisible in game. You can do this with everything in the house if you like then, just don't delete stuff the game has put there. I mean move the items you don't want to outside of the house structure in the interior cell. If the options (like owner) are greyed out in the Cell window for Heartwood then just select another cell then reselect Heartwood again.

I want to empty the house out completely and start from scratch so that would be a ton of stuff to disable...
agerweb
If you delete vanilla objects it can cause in game errors - If you are doing that and all you want is the walls, then duplicate the cell and attach the new cell to the outside door rather than the original one. Then you can do what you want in the duplicate cell and delete anything you like.

I mean I seen how to do it on youtube with non exsisting locations like adding caves etc..but not using a cell that already has markers set up on the exterior cell. Also if I do this does that mean I still need to disable the NPC's too cause won't they be running there normal scripts and stuff?
agerweb
If you go into the vanilla cell and double click on the door you will get its reference window - go to the teleport tab and uncheck the teleport box; this will disconnect this cell from the outside door. You then connect you copied cell to the ourtside door. You can then forget about the original cell which can never be accessed.
