Alithinos Posted January 4, 2012 Share Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) I have noticed some overhauls being announced and I thought of announcing mine too.I was planning to start working on an overhaul too when the Creation Kit is out,but I thought it would be better to wait until the Kit is finally out and I have something ready to show you.But seeing how many overhaul projects are already announced and how they gather the inerest of people,I thought that perhaps it would be good to announce what I'm planning to work on and change too. :)So here is the list with the changes or additions I plan to incorporate to the game: RACES * The various attributes and feats of each race will be tweaked to make playing with each one,feel more diverse.The statistics and skills of each race will be mostly based on the ones founded in Elder Scrolls: IV Oblivion.The starting HP,Magicka and Stamina will be different,as the bonuses you get for certain skills,and the racial powers. SKILLS * Will try to bring Acrobatics and Athletics back.If they can be added in the gameplay without overpowering the player's character in a way that would break the difficulty balance,they will be done. CREATURES * First of all,the overhaul will try to issue the creature encounter frequency balance.Skyrim has a greater variety of creatures than Oblivion or Morrowind,but ends up feeling it has less because of the way the creatures are set to appear.So while now about 70% of your time you fight Draugrs and Spiders,20% Falmer,and 10% for everything else,with this mod the percentage of each creature encounter will be more balanced. * Second,the attributes and feats of most vanilla creatures will be tweaked.It seems silly that the Saber Cat is so slow it can't even reach its natural prey in a chase,while the bears can almost overrun horses.Real life creatures will be tweaked so they respond more realistically and naturally,lore creatures will respond more according to the way they did in past games,and some folklore monsters will feature attributes closer to folklore and tradition. * There will be some new creatures added.(I don't want to spoil which they will be yet!:P) * Will make Alduin specifically harder,and a little larger.Since he is the major villain,the archetype of the BIG BAD BOSS,he should be harder than what he is.But I don't want the whole game or all the dragons to become harder at the same time.Alduin should feel unique and more powerfull.This won't be a simple HP raise,but his attacks will do more damage,and he will probably have new kinds of attacks. DUNGEONS * Will remove lit candles in places they shouldn't be,and alter the brightness of some dungeons.Things like torches and Night Eye won't be redundant any more. ENVIRONMENT * I will see if the Creation Kit allows me to change the magnitute that affects how dark the landscape and objects/actors will be dependending on the Sun's position,as the Sandbox Editor from Crysis did.If the Creation Kit has a similar function,I will make it so the landscape lighting/shading that depends on Sun's position feels more realistic,so you won't end up with a dark sky and bright landscape.If there is such a function,it will mean that there won't be a need for mods that generally make everything darker,even what is supposed to be brighter. * Will apply brushes where it feels necessary.That means adding things like vegetation and rocks. * Getting in boiling water in volcanic regions is silly.When you get in to boiling water you will recieve heat damage. * Will add frost damage to the water at some Northern parts of Skyrim.Where you see icebergs floating,you wouldn't dive down naked,would you ? POTIONS * I feel like some potions that are needed are missing,'cause I haven't met some of them.So in case they already exist but for some reason don't appear in any store,I will make them available,and if they are not in the game at all,I will make them be in it. BOOKS * I will add some lore friendly books. VARIOUS GAMEPLAY CHANGES * Will remove the [EMPTY] message from containers.What is the explanation for knowing if a container is empty if you haven't openned it yet ?* Will try to make it so new journal entries don't overwrite the old ones,for those who want to read the deeds they did in the past.* Will investigate and search for a solution for this annoyance that seem to affect many people,that after completeing the main quest,each time you use Fast Travel a Dragon appears,not counting the patroling or random ones.For some people dragon encounters are so frequent they become annoying because they interrupt questing. Things might be changed or added until this mod's release.While most of these can be done by myself,for a few of those changes I may need the help of other modder/s so if you are willing to take part in it please send me a personal message.(Especially need someone with experience in flash and design,so if Acrobatics and Athletics turn out to work well in the game,he can design and add the respective sign symbols and skills trees in the Skill Menu)Feel free to offer suggestions,or help.
